Post Mission Report: www.912WarRoom.com
Earlier in the day Stacy from Welcome Home Warriors (see video below) sent out a message that SPC Phillip Craig Welch flight was coming in earlier than first expected. When I got to the Fort Lauderdale Airport semi late (fighting with machine to give my HD a ticket to enter garage) I ran into approximately 25-30 patriots. Children, seniors, vets, moms, and the Patriot Guard Riders all attended this event with great joy!
When SPC Welch started walking toward the
exit the crowd started chanting, USA, USA, USA! The passengers waiting to be
grouped in the TSA security line across from us joined in and the whole airport
chanting: USA, USA, USA!
It was a beautiful thing, but all of a sudden SPC Welch got
stage fright and ran into the bathroom before exiting the restricted zone. There
was laughter and his mom was cracking jokes. Five minutes later he reappeared, walked
out of the passenger restricted section, and hugged his mom and brother. He shaked
everyone’s hand and thanked them for coming down. He did not expect this joyous
welcome and was somewhat camera shy when interviewed by Channel 10 news.
I posted some videos and photos in case there is someone who
has not attended an event like this and is curious to what it is like. I
encourage everyone to continue to visit the War Room and check the events
calendar because this year we need Patriots out and about participating. Get
involved and stay connected!
